Our Cancellation Policy
The continued progress of our students and invested time of our instructors is very important to Rockingham Music Academy. If you need to cancel a lesson, please give us at least 24 hours notice before the session start time. With 24 hours notice, you are eligible for a makeup lesson (see the definition of a makeup lesson below).
Students are allowed 2 cancellations per 10 week term,
1 of which can be “last minute” (before 11am on the lesson day) and the other requires a minimum 24 hours notice.
Rock Band members must provide at least 24 hours notice for a cancellation and a refund or makeup will only be provided if the rehearsal does not happen due to members absence.
* Cancellations must be notified by talking directly to a member of our Bookings Team at the reception desk or by phone on 0458 256 055 – please note that telling your instructor is NOT sufficient.
If Rockingham Music Academy cancels a lesson for any reason, for example if your instructor is sick and unable to be substituted, we will notify you as soon as possible and you will be eligible for a makeup lesson.
1. Lessons cancelled at least 24 hours ahead will receive a makeup lesson.
Typically, makeup lessons take place at an alternate time or day within the week or during the week after the term ends.
2. You can not reschedule a make up lesson.
3. Makeup lessons will be scheduled to suit the teacher’s timetables.
4. Only 2 makeup lessons can be given in every 10 week block.
5. If your instructor is not able to make a lesson:
a) We will makeup the lesson or organize another teacher
b) Makeup lessons are treated as regular lessons
6. Lesson fees are not refundable so please make sure you are able to complete lessons you have paid for.
Trying a Different Instructor or Instrument
You are welcome at any time to try a different instructor, or switch to learning a different instrument – simply let our Bookings Team know and we will organize it.
Rockingham Music Academy takes no responsibility for the supervision of students under the age of 18 before or after their session times.
If we are concerned about your behaviour, or if you do not pay your fees when they are due, we may suspend or terminate your sessions.
Rockingham Music Academy does not currently offer discounts for multiple students or sessions.
We do offer a referral incentive that can earn students a free lesson when a referred customer books four lessons. More information is available about this at the Academy or by taking to our Bookings Team. Occasional specials and giveaways take place on RMA's social media sites.
Booking and Payment Options
1. Book & Pay Upfront
Book and prepay a series of between 2 and 10 sessions (a series of 10 typically covers a full School Term). Your preferred instructor and time slot will be reserved until the last scheduled session in the series. Weekly payments are accepted as long as regular lessons are paid at least one week in advance. One-off casual lessons can be made but only within 7 days of the Lesson and must be paid for upon booking.
Up-front payments must be made at the time of booking. Payments can be made over-the-phone or in person at Rockingham Music Academy. We accept Cash, EFTPOS, BSB, Visa and MasterCard. We do not accept cheques.
Provided you book and pay for another series of lessons before the end of the series you are in, we will try our best to ensure you maintain your preferred instructor and time slot, though this is not guaranteed.
2. Autopay via BSB
Rockingham Music Academy offers the option of payment via scheduled BSB. If you are interested in this payment option, please talk to a member of our Bookings Team to receive an invoice by email with BSB and Account details. Please include your surname or Invoice Number as a reference with each payment.
We do not give refunds for booked sessions that have been paid for. All booked sessions must be used within the term they are purchased - no refunds will be given for any unused sessions
Doing any music program at Rockingham Music Academy should be fun and rewarding. If you are not enjoying your sessions or have any issues, complaints or suggestions, please tell us straight away. You can do this by telling your instructor, talking to our Bookings Team, or by emailing our director Josie Crosby on josie (at) rockinghammusicacademy.com
